The Head of the Jembrana Health Agency, I Gusti Bagus Ketut Oka Parwata, confirmed that since the implementation of the Candle Operation to secure the border from potential Covid-19 transmission and criminal activity at Gilimanuk Port, dozens of unvaccinated domestic tourists have been reprimanded.

He also explained that the vaccination site will be operating until December 31st 2021. It is open to anyone who hasn’t been fully vaccinated.

Nonetheless, he still hopes that visitors will have their Covid-19 shots before traveling, to avoid creating crowds at the document screening area of Gilimanuk Port.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Jembrana Police Department, AKBP I Dewa Gede Juliana, admitted that the Candle Operation has been effective in distributing the Covid-19 vaccine. Since the operation began at the start of the holiday season, an average of 80 people have been vaccinated per day.

“During the Candle Operation, an average of 80 people from outside Bali have received the vaccine daily,” AKBP Juliana said. He also reminds all travelers to comply with prevention protocols and complete all the travel requirements. This includes the Covid-19 vaccine certificate and a negative Covid-19 test result. These are required to gain access to the island.

You can not vaccinate someone and then release into the general public. Vaccinations require a 2 week period before they are fully effective. This method is protecting no one. No vaccine, get out. Check before departure, vaccinate if needed, wait 2 weeks. That is supposed to be how it works.

What a bunch of bs. Slap on the hand for natives, but refuse entry to fully vaccinated foreigners. Hey people, time to shun Bali altogether and find other places like Philippines or Vietnam, actually cheaper there and the women are prettier, lmao!

@Alan, 95%? where did you get this data. There is actually not a single country in the world with more then 90% (may be one) so not sure how australia did it. What I saw is 76% in Australia. https://ourworldindata.org/covid-vaccinations This is for everyone. Actually, over 16yo, 91% are vaccinated

These are ONLY the ones that you've caught. Domestic tourist must have known this was a way in without having to be vaxxed.
