Buleleng Will Continue To Provide Hotel Quarantine For Residents

Buleleng Covid-19 Handling Task Force has decided to continue government-provided quarantine facilities for asymptomatic Covid-19 patients. The region is relying solely on its own budgets without financial support from the central government.

Previously, the National Disaster Management (BNPB), the representative of the central government, decided to stop financing the quarantine facility program for Covid-19 patients without symptoms in Bali due to financial restraints.

The decision was made after the Buleleng Covid-19 Task Force attended a virtual meeting with the Bali Provincial Government, on Saturday (20/2) afternoon.

During the meeting, 8 of the 9 regions in Bali decided to continue the quarantine process in their respective districts.

According to the Secretary of the Buleleng Covid-19 Handling Task Force, Gede Suyasa, there were indeed a number of alternatives being discussed at the meeting.

“Seeing the geographical conditions and to facilitate supervision, we decided to do it centrally at the district level. The Regent has also agreed that this program should be continued, ”said Suyasa.

According to Suyasa, the Unexpected Expenditure (BTT) budget installed in the Buleleng APBD is still sufficient to finance quarantine at least until the next few months.

Suyasa also deployed the Public Civil Service Officers and Regional Disaster Management (BPBD) to establish communication with certain accommodation businesses to cooperate with the regional government to run this program. 

“The regional government can only provide USD 14 (IDR 200,000) for each patient with three daily meals being included, so we really hope that the accommodation businesses here are willing to support this program,” Suyasa concluded.
