Travel data has revealed the most famous temples in Bali with tourists.
Visitors to Bali often cited the temples and the island’s deeply spiritual nature as one of the top reasons for booking a vacation to the province.
Two of Bali’s most popular temples with tourists are Tanah Lot Temple and Ulun Danu Beratan. One is very popular with international tourists to, and the other is often overlooked by international tourists and visited more frequently by domestic travelers.
The public relations officer for Ulun Danu Beratan, Agus Teja Saputra, told reporters that the number of tourists visiting the temple has been rising since the Easter holidays. He said that in light of the increased number of visitors, more security officers will be stationed throughout the complex.
Saputra noted, “Supervising travelers who are at Ulun Danu Beratan, Bedugul, will be assisted by the police. On normal days, there are 300 domestic tourists visiting Bedugul per day, but during the [Easter] holidays, we saw 350 visits per day.” Increased security will be ongoing.

As Indonesia celebrates the national Hari Raya Idul Fitri holiday, thousands more tourists visit Bali’s leading cultural attractions.
Ulun Danu Beratan is one of the most popular temples in Bali, and it is used by domestic tourists, but international tourists should seriously put this cultural gem and the surrounding highlands on their itinerary.
The Bedugul Highlands are one of the most underrated regions of Bali, offering deep cultural immersion, stunning natural landscapes and an impressive collection of five star hotels and activities to match.

Ulun Danu Beratan is the famous temple on the lake that often appears on picture postcards of the island.
The temple is one of the nine Kahyangan Jagat temples on Bali, holding a spiritual significance akin to Pura Luhur Uluwatu, Pura Lempuyang Luhur, which is also known as the Gates of Heaven Temple, and, of course, the Mother Temple, Pura Besakih.
For some real cultural insights a visit to Ulun Danu Beratan is invaluable. One of the most interesting features of Ulun Danu Beratan is the 11-storey penlinggih meru that was built in dedication to Lord Shiva and his consort Parvathu. There is also a statue of the Lord Buddha enshrined at the temple too.

During this Eid holiday in Indonesia, the Head of the Public Relations team at Tanah Lot Temple spoke with reporters. Putu Earwan and his team predicted that during Eid, visits to the temple from both domestic and international visitors would increase by over 100%.
He noted that he and his teams would be putting systems in place to manage the crowds and putting more staff on duty to monitor the situation on the ground.
Tourists visiting Tanah Lot Temple this weekend expect the complex to be busy and for there to be many more security officers present.
Uluwatu Temple is also amongst the most popular temples, and international tourists visit Bali. Temple managers have recently confirmed that huge renovations will be underway soon to save the temple from coastal cliff erosion.
The famous temple is perched at the edge of the cliff in Uluwatu, and with cracks in the rocks noticed as far back as the 1980s, managers are keen to secure the temple’s future.
Work is due to get underway in May and AA Rama Putra from the Badung Regency Public Works and Spatial Planning Department confirmed that renovations and construction efforts would not affect worshippers or tourist visits.
The project is set to cost IDR 82 billion but will certainly serve to protect the temple from the elements.
The Pecatu Traditional Village Head, I Made Sumerta, spoke with reporters about the conservation efforts. He said, “We pray together, and hopefully, there will be no landslides or corrosion, let alone at this holy place.”

Last time I visited Ulun Danu Beratan: 1) No access to any temple. 2) Garden was littered with tacky plastic figures like sponge bob! 3) Toilet sign: "Buang Kecil" = 2k, "Buang Besar" = 5k
and then complain tourists ruin Bali?
