Bali’s New Tour Itineraries Showcase New Destinations To Tourists

Indonesia’s Ministry of Tourism is on a mission to promote lesser-visited and emerging tourism destinations around the country.

Bali is Indonesia’s most important tourism destination, and contrary to popular belief, many areas of the province have yet to be touched by tourism.

Indonesia’s Ministry of Tourism has been working on the 3Bs Tour for nearly two years. The 3Bs Tour is a travel itinerary and tour route that will be facilitated by the government as an official tour package.

The tour focuses on three incredible regions: Banyuwangi in East Java, West Bali, and North Bali. The tour was first explored by the previous Minister of Tourism, Sandiaga Uno, and has not been brought to life by the current Minister of Tourism, Widiyanti Wardhana.

In order to promote the new travel itinerary, Wonderful Indonesia, the national tourism board, invited travel experts from around the world for a Famtrip. Bringing together highly experienced traversers from Africa, North America, Europe, and the Middle East, Wonderful Indonesia launched the 3Bs Tour onto the world stage.

Speaking to reporters, the Deputy for Marketing at the Ministry of Tourism, Ni Made Ayu Marthini, shared, “The high-quality tourism market with high purchasing power is a very potential target to be developed, because it can encourage improvements in the quality of Indonesian tourism.”

The trip has been given its own hashtag #GoBeyondOrdinary, and this tour certainly achieves that. With areas of Bali like Canggu, Seminyak, and Uluwatu becoming increasingly popular with holidaymakers, travellers seeking deeper cultural experiences are all too keen to explore more off-path destinations and visit more than one province during their trip.

With Bali clearly Indonesia’s flagship travel destination, the Ministry of Tourism has been on a mission to inspire tourists to create travel itineraries and holidays that feature multiple stops. For example, the new Bali Beyond Beautiful tour starts in Labuan Bajo, stopping off at Komodo National Park before traveling onwards to Bali.

Similarly, the 3Bs Tour starts out in East Java, in Banywangi, where tourists can visit Osing Kemiren Tourism Village, which was selected as the Best Tourism Village by UN Tourism 2025. Of course, no visit to East Java would be complete without a trek up to the crater of magical Mount Ijen.

This active volcano has a blue caldera lake, and due to the high sulphur concentration of the volcano, blue flames can often be seen blazing along the route towards the summit.

To create a nicely rounded adventure in East Java, the 3Bs Tour brings tourists to the mystical and highly photogenic De Djawatan Forest before heading to the coast to enjoy the charms of Boom Beach.

Guests joining the 3B Tour as part of the Famtrip were given the full VIP treatment and traveled to West Bali on a private yacht via the Banyuwangi International Yacht Club.

Once in Bali, points of interest in West Bali and North Bali included visiting the top tourism villages, local warungs to try dishes specifically from Buleleng Regency, as well as visiting some of the top hotels in the area.

Tourists traveling to Bali, or Indonesia more broadly, in the coming months can expect to see way more promotion of itineraries and tours from the Ministry of Tourism, Wonderful Indonesia, and their partner travel agents. Over the Christmas and New Year holidays, for example, dozens of organised tour packages will be available to tourists.

Speaking to the media this week, Minister Wardhana shared, “To date, at least 65 tour packages have been submitted to the Ministry of Tourism from various industry partners, covering a variety of priority destinations, not including those created independently.”

She concluded, “We hope the Christmas and New Year (Nataru) series of events can boost tourist traffic, strengthen destination appeal, and provide a tangible economic impact for the community without neglecting safety and security.”
