Bali’s newest mall, ICON Mall Bali in the heart of Sanur, has just celebrated its grand opening festival week.
With heaps to celebrate as the year comes to a close, Bali’s biggest shopping malls are keeping the festival feels running high with plenty of events and mega discounts for tourists this Christmas and New Year holiday.
The Indonesian Shopping Center Management Association for Bali has launched a huge Christmas and New Year 2024 festival campaign to attract more tourists to the island’s biggest malls.
The Bali Great Sale, as the campaign has been named by the Shopping Center Management Association for Bali, will be held across the island’s eleven largest malls.
Special seasonal events will be held at Beachwalk Shopping Center, Discovery Mall Bali, Data Plaza, Icon Bali, Level21 Mall, Living World Denpasar, Lippo Mall Kuta, Plaza Reno, Samasta Seminyak Village and Sidewalk Jimbaran. The Big Shopping Party will run until 11th January, giving both tourists and locals plenty of time to consider their purchases and investments.
The Chairperson of the Shopping Center Management Association for Bali, Gita Sunarwulan, told reporters, “We at the APPBI Bali created the Bali Great Sale as a shopping event or shopping tourism attraction as a step to increase Bali’s economic growth by increasing the income in the Province of Bali.”
She added, “Deliberately created during the peak season, when many tourists come to Bali, this program is not only a tourist attraction but also helps the trade sector in Bali.” The Bali Great Sale is the perfect opportunity for Bali tourists to snap up some incredible deals, sale prices, and even tax-back eligible goodies.
There are dozens of high-ticket-value prizes to be won as part of competitions and games held within each mall as part of the Bali Great Sale. Prizes include gold, accommodation couples, motorbikes, and more.
Sunarwulan explained, “There are also 80 weekly top buyer winners; customers or tourists who come can also get instant prizes just by shopping using the contactless method on credit cards from any bank; this aims to educate tourists [on the ease of using contactless].”
Bali’s newest mall, ICON Mall Bali in Sanur, has just celebrated its grand opening festival, and as part of the Bali Great Sale, will be offering up to 70% off discounts across outlets within the retail complex.
The ICON BALI President Director, Heru Candra Nasution, told reporters, “During this program, visitors can enjoy various attractive promos, including the chance to win an iPhone 15 Pro Max every week throughout December.”
At ICON Mall Bali, retail therapy is just one of many different types of offerings available to visitors. As Nasution told reporters, “Our concept is to create a shopping center that is truly at one with nature, unique, and different from other malls in Indonesia.”
He added, “We want Sanur to be not only a place passed through to go to other destinations but also to be the main destination.”
ICON Mall Bali is currently welcoming an average of 29,000 visitors a day and is the first mall in Bali that offers fully open-facing access to the seafront.
The mall is home to over 200 international and local brands, including Mango, Uniqlo, Sephora, and Krisna Oleh-Oleh Premium, which is Bali’s biggest arts, crafts, and souvenir shop.
ICON Bali’s Main Commissioner, Ida Bagus Rai Budarsa, added, “Sanur now has a new attraction that is expected to attract more tourists and revive the economy after the pandemic.”
With the rainy season impacting tourists’ travel plans left, right, and center, a paint afternoon in Bali can be well spent at one of the island’s incredibly diverse shopping malls.
These malls are much more than retail outlets; they are one-stop entrainment complexes featuring everything from food courts to indoor theme parks to cinemas and cultural amphitheaters showcasing free traditional dance displays every single day.
