On the 30th of July Bali’s latest beach club development opened in Nusa Dua. The luxury venue, located in Bali’s idyllic Nusa Dua opened its doors to the public after much anticipation. Canna Bali is described as ‘The only wondrous hidden gem in Nusa Dua. An unparalleled day-to-night escape by the sea’.
The brand is exceptionally on trend in Bali and will no doubt attract hundreds of thousands of visitors seeking bohemian beach luxury in the years to come.
Canna Bali is positioning itself as a one-stop destination offering a beach club venue, restaurant, and nightclub space. The strategic position of Canna Bali is part of its appeal. The venue is tucked away in Nusa Dua, away from the popular beach clubs of Canggu. Canna Bali is set on offering guests distance from the crowds and bringing a new kind of vibe to Nusa Dua.
Speaking at the launch event Canna Bali’s Director of Marketing and Public Relations, Kiki Utara, explained how the opening was more symbolic than Canna Bali itself. He said that the launch of the new venue is thanks to the current progress of the island’s tourism recovery, and for that, he thanked the Balinese people and the local government.
He shared how he hoped that the opening of the new one-stop destination would give a message to the rest of the world that Bali’s tourism sector is alive and well. He said ‘We are proof that we are still surviving’.
Utara shared his passion for the space, describing that the location of the venue couldn’t be more perfect for a one-stop destination concept space. Built on the edge of the white sandy beaches of Nusa Dua, surrounded by tropical greenery, Canna Bali is hard to resist.
‘With this, we want to show that we are ready to welcome guests from all over the world. Moreover, our concept here provides a memorable thing, because Canna has a beautiful meaning’.
According to their website, Canna Bali is inviting visitors to ‘celebrate their love for the island, sun, sea, sand, and (endless) summer!’. Canna Bali offers three distinct experiences marketed as Canna, Cliff, and Cave.
Canna is the beach club experience that includes the lodge, the restaurant, the deck, and the pool where visitors can sip cocktails accompanied by the ‘finest classic house disco’ performed by live DJs. Canna’s experiences also include access to Canna Shade, a relaxed space on the beach catered more towards families.
Cliff at Canna offers a ‘romantic first-rate dining experience’ for lunch and dinner. The Cliff restaurant offers incredible views of the immaculate beach and ocean. The restaurant is made using upcycled materials from old houses and the interior design has been praised for its wow factor.
Canna Cave is a man-made cave nightclub that is described as a ‘multifunction space with multi-sensory experience’. The venue has a series of events lined up including a weekly Sunday brunch and live music events. Booking is recommended and reservations can be made through their website and social media.
Bali’s famous beach clubs have been in the news recently. In Canggu, the Atlas Beach Club opened in mid-July amid a serious controversy for the venue’s parent company. Atlas Beach Club is set to be the biggest beach club in Asia and with 52 different food and shopping outlets alongside accommodation and expansive beach club facilities.
Last week Atlas Beach Club was given permission to continue operating ‘in good faith’ after Bali officials discovered the venue had opened without sufficient permits and licenses. The company’s publicist told local reporters that 15 different permits are waiting to be approved. Atlas Beach Club’s operations are being closely monitored by officials in Bali during this opening period.

I'm a bit surprised this venue was allowed built 20m away from Pura (Karang Boma) and less than 100m away from another Pura. Then again I should not be that surprised.
