Bali is committed to working with its provincial neighbors to promote a more rich and varied tourist experience.

As part of a new collaboration, the provinces of Bali, West Nusa Tenggara, and East Nusa Tenggara will come together to promote ‘Bali Nusra’ as a region for incredible travel adventures.

The commitment was formed in a meeting hosted by the Bali Province Regional Secretary, Dewa Made Indra, who explained that the new plans are to serve as a reminder of the importance of policy integration and strengthening regional government synergy.

The provinces of Bali, West Nusa Tenggara, and East Nusa Tenggara have deep historical connections as the Lesser Sunda region.

While each of the islands within these distinctly different provinces has its own cultural identity, the shared history of the region can serve as a catalyst to build a prosperous future for all who reside there.

With so many historical, cultural, and natural wonders to enjoy, tourists visiting the region are always blown away by the range of travel experiences on offer.

Bali lovers will already be family with many of the islands of West Nusa Tenggara, including Gili Air, Gili Meno, Gili Trawangan, and Lombok.

The island of Lombok has been named one of the Ministry of Tourism’s five super-priority destinations, and this collaboration will help bring together the tourist industry clout held by Bali and the printed potential of Lombok.

The island will once again host the Moto GP in September, an event that has helped bring the province to the attention of a whole new demographic of potential travelers.

Indra spoke to reporters about the practical and operations steps that will help maker seamless travel experiences for tourists across the provinces and make it easier for tourism businesses to blossom in these areas, this includes the development of digital systems and improving banking infrastructure.

He also believes that the partnership can help tackle issues like over-tourism and badly-behaved foreigners. Indra explained, “These are a series of issues that have emerged. We have to act together and solve it well.”

In the coming months and years, tourists can expect to see improved connectivity to destinations like the Gili Islands, Lombok, Komodo National Park, Kelimutu National Park, and the cultural tourism villages of Wae Reno, Cecer Village, and Sikka Village.

Tourism infrastructure and the quality of experiences on offer is also set to be improved too.

It is already possible to travel via fast boat between Bali, the Gili Islands, and Lombok. Leaders will want to make it even easier for tourists to explore the top attractions in West Nusa Tenggara and East Nusa Tenggara and to call upon the knowledge held by tourism leaders in Bali.

As the country’s flagship travel destination and known to be one of the best tourist destinations in the world, travel experts in Bali have a host of knowledge to share with tourism destinations that are leveling up their offerings and those that are just emerging into international tourists’ radars.

It seems that Bali tourists are about to be offered more choices than ever before when it comes to connectivity and additional travel destinations to incorporate into their annual vacation or bucket list adventure to Indonesia.

Just as leaders are affirming their commitment to developing more tourism opportunities between Bali, West Nusa Tenggara, and East Nusa Tenggara, tourism experts in West Bali are also working to establish better connectivity with East Java.

The first step in connecting Buleleng Regency in West Bali and Banyuwangi in East Java will be to improve the availability and accessibility of fast boat services between these two regions.

Sitting just across one another, on either side of the Bali Strait, international tourists seldom hop over to East Java simply because the infrastructure is considered not up to scratch, and supporting infrastructure for tourism on the East Java side needs leveling up, too.

However, leaders have announced that a new partnership is underway to promote East Java and West Bali as a combined destination, meaning tourists will soon be able to explore not one but four of Indonesia’s incredible provinces more easily than ever before.
