Bali Tourists Can Celebrate World Beach Day On Asia’s Most In-Demand Shores

World Beach Day will be celebrated on the 1st of September.

This international day of honor for the world’s shorelines is the perfect opportunity to get down to the coast or, at the very least, start dreaming of that next trip to the seaside.

One leading travel platform can confirm that Bali is amongst the most-searched-for beach vacation destinations in the world.

It’s official that in September and October 2024, the most searched-for, and, therefore, most in-demand beach vacation destination in Asia is Bali.

The travel booking platform Agoda has revealed the top ten most searched-for coastal destinations in Asia for the next two months, and the Island of the Gods has beaten some of Asia’s most iconic beachside escapes.

Bali has come in first place, closely followed by Okinawa in Japan, Da Nang in Vietnam, and Pattaya in Thailand.

The Thai resort in Phuket comes in fifth place, with the world-famous beach resorts of Boracay Island and Cebu in the Philippines coming in ninth and tenth place, respectively.

In a press statement, the Senior Vice President of Supply at Adage, Andrew Smith, said, “With the monsoon season drawing to a close in many parts of Asia, travelers are eagerly anticipating the sun, sand, and sea.”

“Asia boasts some of the world’s most stunning beaches, and International Beach Day is the perfect time to celebrate these coastal treasures.”

Aogoda has also revealed new statistics that make for interesting reading. Search engine traffic for accommodation in Bali has increased 11% over the last year, with demand for travel to the island simply skyrocketing. Bali is on track to surpass all tourism targets in 2024 and will see its busiest-ever year on record.

Bali’s beaches are world-class; whether seeking a cheap and cheerful getaway in the sun or a luxurious private escape to manicured white sandy shores, the Island of the Gods offers it all and more.

As tourists are drawn closer to the booming resort of Canggu, the old favorite beach hangouts of Legian and Kuta are completely crowd-free.

For a mix of surf and sunbathing, Uluwatu is the place to go, with Padang-Padang Beach and Bingin Beach notably the most popular amongst first-time visitors.

For a Bali beach escape that is a little off the beaten path, tourists are increasingly looking towards Amed, Lovina, and the far west of the island.

Leaders are on a mission to encourage tourists to explore more than just the south of Bali, and with searches for Bali beaches on travel booking platforms on the rise, these destinations will be receiving more exposure and the influx of tourists they so deserve.

As a platform, Agoda has been revealing plenty of information on current travel trends over the last few weeks.

Data shows that the cultural city of Yogyakarta in Central Java offers some of the most competitive and high-value room rates anywhere in Indonesia.

With direct flights to Yogyakarta daily from Bali, it’s never been easier for tourists to explore more of the Indonesian archipelago on vacation.

In fact, it can be a strategic budget-maximizing move to add a visit to Yogyakarta to a Bali vacation.

With incredible hotel deals and plenty of day trips and cultural tours to explore in Yogyakarta, all of which are often priced more affordably than Bali’s most iconic trips, tourists can tick off all their bucket list musts and make great savings along the way too.

Speaking to reporters about the affordability of Yogyakarta, Gede Gunawan, Agoda’s Senior Country Director in Indonesia, explained, “In the midst of global economic challenges, tourists are certainly looking for valuable experiences without having to dig too deep into their pockets.”

“Yogyakarta, with all its charm, offers a unique experience that is not only rich in culture but also pocket-friendly.”
