Bali is on a mission to welcome at least 6.5 million international tourists in 2025. In order to achieve this, the Bali Province Tourism Office wants to highlight the island’s incredible lineup of events happening this year so that visitors can time their trips for extra special occasions.

The Bali calendar of events for 2025 features no less than 54 major attractions that will be hosted across the province throughout the year.

There is also an expectation that more events will be added to the calendar as the year progresses. Of the 54 events listed on the Bali Tourism Office’s list, 45 of them are major cultural events that will give tourists an opportunity to explore more of what this unique culture has to offer.

The Head of the Bali Tourism Office, Tjok Bagus Pemayun, told reporters “This is part of encouraging tourists to extend their stay here, besides cultural tourism, we are encouraging these activities.”

He added, “There are several activities that are indeed carried out continuously, but there are years when we want activities that previously had less income and expenditure or impact to be greater now.”

Event highlights include the world-famous Ogoh-Ogoh Parades, which happen in every community in Bali the night before the traditional Balinese New Year, known as Nyepi.

Nyepi, also known as the Day of Silence, is the most important day of the Balinese Hindu calendar. In 2025, Nyepi will be observed from 6 am on 29th March until 6 am on 30th March.

On the evening of the 28th of March, the island’s streets will come alive with noise, fire, and gigantic effigies of monstrous and demonic statues that the island’s young people have meticulously created.

These statues are paraded through village, town, and city streets, accompanied by raucous and rousing live traditional orchestras to ward off bad spirits from the land. It’s a cultural marvel not to be missed.

In April, the Semarapura Festival will be hosted over in Karangasem Regency, and in May, Mekotek will be celebrated in Munggu Village in Mengwi, close to Canggu. Mekotek is a tractional Balinese ceremony that is carried out with the intention of requesting safety and rejecting bad luck.

In May, Bali will welcome back BaliSpirit Festival in Ubud. The celebration of yoga, music, and wellness will return to The Yoga Barn from 7th – 11th May, with tickets available to purchase online now. The lineup includes a world-class selection of yoga and movement teachers, international music acts, and wellness facilitators.

The lineup features some of Bali’s most prominent and well-respected healers, yoga instructors, and spiritual teachers. BaliSpirit Festival has full festival passes available, as well as day passes for those who wish to attend just one day of the event.
