Two leaders of a Bali civil organization have been arrested for extorting many local vendors in a traditional market in Denpasar.
The Head of the Denpasar Criminal Investigation Bureau, Kompol Mikael Hutabarat confirmed that the officers have seized weapons such as an airsoft handgun and a sword from the suspects who have the initials M and W. The arrest was made after receiving a report from one of the local vendors of the Satria traditional market that is located on Jalan Veteran, Denpasar on July 2nd 2021.
“Both of the suspects are members of a society organization in Bali, we were informed that they have been extorting local vendors in that market for several months already.” Kompol Mikael said on Tuesday (6/7). An investigation about this case began when one of the local vendors from the Satria market filed a report to the Denpasar Police Department on July 2nd 2021 regarding illegal fees that have been collected by the suspects in the last three months from many vendors in Satria market.
After collecting information from the location, both suspects were arrested, along with weapons, USD 350 (IDR 5 million) cash and a registration card of their membership to the civil organization. Both of them have been detained at the police department as the investigation about the case is still underway. “We will continue our investigation regarding this case as we suspected that there are still many more victims out there who are too scared to file a report.” Kompol Mikael concluded.

Authorities right to lockdown and ban travellers. Here in Thailand an infected "sex tourist" flying Eithad with a fake Covid test cert was found to be positive and he's off to Covid Jail at his own expense. And BTW, everyone he traveled with have also been quarantined in hospital at their own expense.

Only police and army should have weapons. The monopoly of force lies with them.
