It is the travel awards season and true to form Bali is wing big! From the island’s most loved hotels winning well deserved accolades to the island itself being named as the most romantic destination in the world in 2024, the reasons to love Bali are endless.
Bali has been named the World’s Most Romantic Destination in 2024 by the World Travel Awards.
Bali came out on top beating incredible destinations that shared the shortlist, including the Atacama Desert in Chile, St Lucia, the Seychelles, The Bahamas, and Turks & Caicos.
It’s easy to see why Bali has been voted as the most romantic destination in the world this year; this magical island offers romantic charm to every kind of traveler; you don’t have to be on honeymoon to feel all the feels in Bali.
In fact, many solo travelers find that Bali is a destination to cultivate much-needed self-love and respite from an increasingly stressful world.
Destinations like Ubud, Sideman, and Amed are perfect for a solo self-love retreat, and the rugged coastlines of Uluwatu or the remote jungles of West Bali National Park are perfect for couples looking to reconnect and relax.
Since 2007 the World’s Most Romantic Destination category has been won by only four places, Seychelles, Mauritius, Jamaica and the Maldives, making Bali the first place in Southeast Asia to win this prestigious award.
Bali’s big wins at the 2024 travel awards are being celebrated by Wonderful Indonesia, the national tourism board.
Wonderful Indonesia said, “These awards truly motivate us to keep sharing Indonesia’s beauty with the world and make Bali and all our destinations shine even brighter.”
It is not only at the World Travel Awards that Bali has won notable awards but also across the travel sector.
Through TripAdvisor’s Traveler’s Choice Awards 2024, Bali has been ranked as the number one best honeymoon destination in the world and the second-best destination in the world overall.
Kelingking Beach was named the best beach in Asia and came in 21st place in the global rankings.
Melasti Beach in Ungasan, one of the best up-and-coming destinations in Bali, was ranked as the 10th best beach in Asia, according to TripAdvisor.
Love is certainly in the air in Bali, as Bounce Surveys found that Bali will be the second most popular wedding destination in the world in 2024.
With stunning hotels like the Apurva Kempinski and Karma Kandara each offering incredible wedding packages to betrothed globetrotters, there is something truly magical about tying the knot on the Island of the Gods.
Top wedding venues in Bali in 2024 have included the Intercontinental Bali in Jimbaran Bay, the Hyatt Regency in Nusa Dua, Uluwatu’s utterly magical Alila Villas, and the world-class Hanging Gardens of Bali.
It’s not only the big romantic feels that have won big in Bali this year, but the family-friendly vibes, too. Conrad Bali was named the best family-friendly resort in Bali in 2024.
Located in the heart of Tanjung Benoa, arguably Bali’s most fun beach resort, Conrad Bali puts creating memories and connecting to culture at the heart of their offering.
Offering spacious family rooms and exciting activities ranging from fire dances to cycling tours and the Kura Kura Kids Club for little ones aged between 4-11, a stay at Conrad Bali is ideal for a multi-generational family vacation.
The resort also ticks the romantic dream wedding destination box too and offers couples the chance to get married at their truly impressive beachfront chapel.
Bali’s most romantic day trips are often found a little off the beaten track.
Swap out busy Nusa Penida for a romantic and wistful stroll along the shore of Nusa Lembongan, take part in a traditional Melukat water purification ceremony to renew your commitment to love at Tirta Empul Temple, or explore the wild waterfalls and jungles of Munduk to reconnect with the real and boundless love of Mother Nature.
