Bali Governor, I Wayan Koster has predicted that thousands of international travelers will start coming in November 2021.
Despite reopening its border for international visitors by October 14th 2021, Koster admitted that the international terminal at Bali’s Ngurah Rai Airport hasn’t received any arrival schedules from international flights. “We haven’t seen any international arrivals for this week, and we’re still not sure about next week as well.” Koster said during a press conference on Thursday (14/10) at Bali Airport.
However, Koster is optimistic that the situation might change in the next few weeks as the central government has recently announced that Bali has reopened for more countries. “We’re optimistic that we could receive thousands of tourists in November as we’re now open for travelers from 19 different countries such as China, South Korea, India, France, Italy, Japan, Sweden, Poland, Hungary, Norway and Spain that used to make a big contribution to our economy.” Koster added.
Koster hopes that the international terminal of Bali’s Ngurah Rai Airport will start to operate like normal by the end of October. “We’re expecting that our airport will start receiving international arrivals by the end of this month, as a sign that Bali tourism will be headed towards a better situation and the economy will recover from this crisis.” Koster concluded.

A majority of your 5 Star visitors fly in from around the region ( expat and regional APAC) for short ( 3- 4 day + a stop over in Singers for real food , brand shopping and a new Rolex) vacays . Plus a stop in Penang for some really amazing food) I would normally visit Bali every 8-12 weeks or so and hop-scotch around the region for a quick week. Bali just offer enough to stay long term.
And honestly we don’t come for the food in Bali…( .it’s mostly the crap you’d feed to a drunk Aussie or cheap hippie). I works executive level regionally.
I do not have 5 days to spend in lockdown. Ergo….we are not coming. My name is…..Legion.
Thousands of rich expats and regional Asians….especially rich active Bangkokian Thai are not coming. Week ends in Thai resorts are bustling. The only people who can quarantine for a week in Bali are the penniless backpacker who the super-geniuses in admin are trying to eliminate. Deep dive planning isn’t “somebodies” specialty.

Will see if this is working. I scheduled by trip to bali mid November - mid December but had to change all plans to February because Qatar Airways canceled my flights. PeduliLindungi app might be a problem too. I’m waiting now for 3 weeks to be approved.

Once Quarantine is abolished, travel can resume without hidrance. Predicting who and when will Bali be welcoming every nationality remains how the risk assessment of the country will be up to par. The confidence from the travelers are of importance.
Besides that other countries should also be doing the same health assessment. Unvaccinated travelers need to make that vaccination choice in order to travel again.
