Rainy Days In Bali Are Perfect For Cafe Hopping In Seminyak

We are all too acutely aware that the rainy season has been coming in hard in Bali this year. With the weather forecast a tricky beast to navigate, it’s always good to have some rainy-day options listed in the itinerary.

While rainy days may not be so fun for sunbathing in Bali’s ever-popular Seminyak, cafe-hopping certainly is. Whether you’re in the mood to get super caffeinated or snuggle up with a local herbal infusion as the rain pours down, there is still plenty to explore on a rainy way in Seminyak.

Rainy days call for brunch. Specifically brunch at one of Seminyak’s most iconic cafes, Sisterfields.

Located in the heart of Seminyak, Sisterfields serves up healthy, organic bowls of hearty goodness and one of the best coffee menus in the area.

Gaining nothing but rave reviews from passing tourists and earning huge respect from ex-pats and long-stay digital nomads in Bali’s central south, Sisterfields handmade meals, prepared from scratch every day, are not only tasty but filled with all the nutrition your body craves on a cold and rainy day in Indonesia.

It does get surprisingly cold, right?!

Don’t take our word from it; the Sisterfields team say it best. They share, “Sisterfields is committed to keeping things fresh by using high-quality ingredients that are prepared from scratch every day. We embody Australia’s unique cafe culture, bringing a love of delicious cuisine and superb coffee to the heart of Seminyak.”

“Sisterfields is a homegrown hangout for the island’s in-crowd and visiting foodies, with an all-day menu as well as a variety of coffees, cakes, and pastries.”

We love it! The rhubarb and strawberry pancake is a top choice on a rainy day, and for something more savory, be sure to order the chili cheese scrambled eggs.

The next stop is Coffee Cartel, a spot that has tourists scrapping their Seminyak foodie bucket list and returning day after day on vacation! With locations in both Seminyak and Legian, real coffee lovers are pretty spoilt for choice.

Stylish in that iconically Seminyak kind of way, the decor at Coffee Cartel is both modern and industrial with homely touches of houseplants and baby pink hues.

From a modern Australian-style brunch menu to classic Bali lunch bowls and irresistible desserts, Coffee Cartel is an absolute must-visit. And it just keeps getting better.

Coffee Cartel has invited in a Ripple Machine, which uses patented printing technology to create bespoke coffee milk foam designs. You can download the app, pick your design – which can also be an actual photo – click order and voila!

The menu features plenty of vegan and veggie options, and gluten-free bread is available too. For real coffee geeks, the Ripple Machine option may feel a little bit of a gimmick, but fear not, Coffee Cartel takes their caffeine very seriously indeed.

The menu offers options for espresso, Aeropress, siphon, V60, and Viet Drip coffees using the company’s own coffee blend.

There are dozens and dozens of incredible coffee houses and cafes in Seminyak; it’s hard to pick just a few to share.

An honorable mention has to be given to Titik Temu Coffee Seminyak, often referred to simply as Temu. This is an authentic modern Indonesian coffee shop, and it is seriously cool.

Titik Temu, meaning ‘meeting point’ in Bahasa Indonesia, is the perfect name for this homely, welcoming, hang-out all-day kind of coffee house.

With sister venues in Jakarta and Medan in Sumatra, Titik Temu is held in high regard by Indonesian baristas and coffee geeks.

You’ll also find a second Titik Temu in Ubud. The food menu is seriously impressive, but the quality of the coffee is really next level at Temu; don’t miss it!

Looking for a super photogenic cafe with an equally photogenic, and more importantly tasty, menu? Look no further then NEON PALMS. Open from 8 am until 10pm, this vibrant cafe serves a menu jam packed filled with colour, flavour and nutrition.

With fresh juices, smoothie bowls galore, and tones of weekly deals, NEON PALMS offers tourists a much-needed ray of sunshine on a rainy day in Seminyak.
