Share The Article

A new ferry service has launched this week in Bali that will give tourists even more options when it comes to island hopping around the province.

Sanur Ferries is a new shuttle service that will provide connections between the main island of Bali, Nusa Penida, and Nusa Lembongan.

The soft launch event for the Sanur Ferries Ship was marked by the cutting of the ribbons with the Ex-Deputy Governor of Bali of Cokorda Oka Artha Ardana Sukawati, who was accompanied by the Head of GIPI Bali, who is also the owner of Sanur Ferries, Ida Bagus Agung Partha Adnyana at Benoa Port on Monday 1st July.

The new service operated on the Sanur Ferries Ship is a two-deck vessel with a capacity of 150 seats. Travel fares will start at IDR 700,000, and the introductory services will be operated on the Serangan-Nusa Penida Port line.

The company is set to open up more routes, departing from Sanur Port Pier at Matahari Terbit Beach, once final logistics have been fully prepared.

Sanur Ferries has outlined the vision and mission for the new transportation service that is set to help even more tourists access Bali province’s outlying island.

The company explains, “The next phase of growing SanurFerries is understanding the value of partnership corporations. Your business is highly regarded, and we would like the opportunity to discuss how we may help you to offer your valued customers to board our fast shuttle boat and transfer to the islands and get an exciting experience in exploring Nusa Penida, Lombok, and Gili island.”

Sanur Ferries adds, “We put the emphasis on safety, comfort, professionalism, and passenger satisfaction in all our services. Nowadays, we operate with 100% Covid friendly, and all our staff and crews are fully vaccinated and masked. We constantly cleaned the boats, cars, waiting areas, and office. We offer easiness and safety at a reasonable price for your convenient journey to the islands of Nusa Penida and Nusa Lembongan.”

The online booking platform is available in English and Bahasa Indonesia and is very easy to use. The booking platform allows tourists to book roundtrip journeys and one-way tickets.

However, since the company is only in the soft-launch phase, tourists must be prepared to find some pages on the website that will host a ‘coming soon’ message.

Ferry services will soon be available between Serangan and Nusa Penida and Nusa Lembongan, between Sanur and Nusa Penida and Nusa Lembongan, and finally between Padangbai and Nusa Penida and Nusa Lembongan.

Sanur Ferries is set to offer tourists transportation services and tour experiences. Adnyana explained to reporters that in the coming months, the company will offer snorkeling tours, banana boat rides, sea walker tours, and dinner on board the ships.

Adnyana said, “Of course, this facility is not only for tourists but also our residents who will pray to Nusa Penida more comfortably.”

He also confirmed that the ferries used by Sanur Ferries are of international standards and meet the safety criteria outlined by the International Maritime Organisation Global.

At present, there are dozens of fast boat and ferry providers operating the routes between the main island of Bali, the Nusa Islands, the Gili Islands, and Lombok.

One of the most popular and reliable service providers is GoBoat. The fast boat provider even offers sea taxi shuttle services between Canggu and Uluwatu, which have proven to be a huge time saver for tourists who want to travel between the two booming tourist resorts without the hassle of sitting in potentially hours of traffic on the roads.

GoBoat operates fast boat services out of Bali’s main ports and docks, including Sanur, Serangan, and Padangbai. The operator also has launched a new service route to help beat Bali’s road traffic.

A sea taxi service now also operates between Jimbaran and Canggu, departing from Nelayan Beach in Canggu and pulling into Pantai Kedonganan in Jimbaran in just 25 minutes.

"Nowadays, we operate the vessels with 100% Covid friendly, and all our staff and crews are fully vaccinated and masked."

I'm actually more interested to know there are enough life vests / raft for all passengers -- and that exists doors/hatches are not "secured" with padlocks making emergency escape "very difficult". Talking from experience here.

@Exp,

Is it beyond belief that one day you'll make a positive comment without using the subject for a yet again, repeated whinge or criticism?

@Exp, typo: "exit doors", not "exists doors"

What is urgently needed now is a shuttle boat that goes back and forth between Tunjung-Nusa Dua-Sanur area to solve the problem of road congestion and traffic jam

@Wayan Mataram,

Not possible. Waves,tides, bad weather, docking places...and more importantly the small number of passengers carried per boat would have little effect on the traffic, and would probably not be viable.
