An official from the Bali provincial government has announced that authorities will turn on all the emergency sirens across the island on April 26.
The Secretary of Bali Provincial Government, Dewa Indra, confirmed that following the latest Decree published on Monday (18/4), the authorities must turn on all emergency sirens.
This is part of the natural disaster drill in all Bali regions on Tuesday morning (26/4). The government aims to commemorate the annual Disaster Preparedness Day and practice disaster evacuation plans.
“All offices and organizations across the island must join the natural disaster drill on April 26 at 10:00 am by turning on all the emergency sirens and bells,” Indra said.
Authorities in each region will conduct evacuation plans and drills based on the potential natural disasters that might occur in their areas.
This program was also initiated to create proper procedures for handling an emergency situation. They aim to establish response teams, prepare emergency equipment, and conduct regular simulations and evaluations in anticipation of potential disasters.
