The Singapore Tourism Board has announced that the Singaporean Cruise Ship company plans to resume its international route with Bali this year.
The Cruise Director of the Singapore Tourism Board (STB), Annie Chang, confirmed that she has been discussing the plan to resume international cruise ship routes with several Southeast Asian countries, including Indonesia.
“We’ve been communicating with officials from ASEAN countries regarding a safer cruising standard while visiting potential destinations, including Bali, Penang, Port Klang, and Phuket,” Chang said on Wednesday (6/4).
Chang explained that before selecting international destinations, she expects to have an agreement concerning Covid-19 protocols such as facemask wearing and testing for Covid-19 with authorities from the select countries.
Chang plans to start operating the international routes before the end of 2022. “We’re expecting to resume our operations to international destinations at the end of this year,” Chang concluded.
However, one cruise ship operator stated that the resumption of international routes will still depend on Singapore’s health policy and travel restrictions.
