An official from the Bangli Regional Government has confirmed that they plan to develop a drag race track in Bangli.
The Head of Bangli Bina Marga for Public Works Office, I Wayan Lega Suprapto, confirmed that the development of a drag race track in Bangli is slated to begin in soon.
“The development of this drag race track will require around USD $370,000 (IDR 5.3 billion). The auction for this project will start next month,” Suprapto said on Tuesday (22/3).
Suprapto explained that the development has gone through several preparation stages, including designing, picking a location, and studying the impact on the residents.
“We’ve been communicating with the Indonesian Motor Association (IMI), who serves as our consultant in creating an international-standard race track. The organization is also helping us study the potential impact to the local community,” Suprapto added.
Following the latest assessment, the development is expected to positively impact the local economy as many residents have shown their enthusiasm for this upcoming project.
The race track will be developed on 2 acres of land that is rented from a local. “The race track development is expected to finish by the end of this year. We’re renting the land from a local for $USD 35,000 (IDR 500 million),” Suprapto concluded.

OMG... the developments in Bali are getting chaotic, far from the development of nature and local wisdom... why drag race in Bali??? I would say that this is due to the instant mindset and decision majorly lustful despite the study is being conducted.

Great idea! This means the drag racing track (public road) next to my villa will be less busy Saturday nights?
I'm a bit perplexed regarding the priorities around as there must be a few things yet to be 100% sorted out like food, clean water, decent sanitation and healthcare etc. for all?
