Bali Attractions Haven’t Seen An Increase In Tourists Despite Revised Travel Policies

The majority of tourist attractions in Bali haven’t seen an increase in foreign travelers despite the revised travel policies.

AI Nengah Moneng is an official from Panglipuran Village in Bengli, one of the most visited destinations in Bali. He admitted that they hadn’t seen any benefit from the recent reopening of international tourism.

They only received 11 international visitors since the government resumed the visa on arrival program and implemented the zero quarantine policy on March 7.

He also pointed out that Panglipuran received 800 domestic visitors every day in February.

Nonetheless, he was optimistic that Bali would begin to see a rise in foreign travelers by the end of March as more people have become less reluctant to travel with the revised travel policies.

Another tourist destination called Tanah Lot Temple is facing the same situation. The Head of Promotions and Development of Tanah Lot, Kadek Niti, explained that Tanah Lot received an average of 30 foreign visitors each day while there would be over 2,000 domestic travelers on the weekend.

“We’re hoping that the government will gradually add more countries that can gain access to the island with a visa on arrival, to help boost the tourism sector,” Niti concluded.
