A 26-year-old man named Agung Katoi has been arrested and will potentially face 20 years of imprisonment for drug trafficking.
The Prosecutor, I Putu Eka Suyantha, confirmed that Agung and his two friends named Pamor Satria and Richardo Orlando Uneputty were arrested. They potentially face the maximum sentence for their involvement in drug trafficking in Bali.
“Agung, who has been working as a DJ, admitted that he received meth and ecstasy from a fugitive named Donay and earned USD $140 (IDR 2 million) per transaction,” Suyantha said on Wednesday (26/1).
The police arrested Agung from his place in Canggu, North Kuta and seized two packages of meth from the scene.
“When the officers checked the suspect’s cellphone, they saw a message from a man named Pamor Satria who ordered 30 pills of ecstasy,” Suyantha added. Shortly after, the officers also managed to arrest Pamor from Karaoke Lunox in Kuta.
Although the police didn’t find any drugs on Pamor during the arrest, he admitted that he had ordered ecstasy from Agung several days prior though he hadn’t received it yet.
Agung also received a message that the fugitive would drop the package at Jalan Mertanadi Gang Mila, Kerobokan. When the police arrived at the location, they found 30 pills of ecstasy and 1,140 grams of crystal meth.
