A 53-year-old man named Putu Sugiarta lived with his mother’s corpse for two months in honor of her dying wish.
The Head of the Seririt Police Department, Kompol Gede Juli, confirmed that a man living in Rangdu Village, Seririt Buleleng, kept his mother’s corpse inside his house. He took care of the body to fulfill her dying wish.
“Sugiarta kept his mother’s corpse for 54 days as he had promised her to take care of her body without involving other family members,” Kompol Juli said on Monday (27/12). He explained that Suguirta used many ice blocks to keep the body from decomposing.
Nearby villagers and Sugiarta’s relatives who felt suspicious finally realized that Sugiarta’s mom had already died. They were also surprised to discover that the body was still being kept in his house.
After failing to convince Sugiarta to bury the body, the villagers decided to report the incident to the police on Thursday (23/12).
“Sugiarta’s neighbors were surprised to discover that Wayan Terpi (Sugiarta’s mother) had died, so they asked us to help them bury the body as soon as possible,” Juli added.
The police went to Sugiarta’s home and convinced him to bury his mother’s body. “During the medical investigation, we didn’t find wounds from physical assault. After collecting information from witnesses, we decided that Wayan Terpi died from her illness,” Kompol Juli concluded.

@Heinz Schirmaier, no thanks. It's all about money making. Not all physicians around the world share a similar opinion on a certain prognosis and cure.
