A 55-year-old woman from Surabaya named Djaitun has been arrested for stealing a large amount of canned milk from a supermarket in Denpasar.
The Head of the Denpasar Police Department, Kombes Pol Jansen Avitus Panjaitan, confirmed that the suspect was arrested after stealing canned milk worth USD $6,643 (IDR 95 million) from a supermarket inside the Trans Studio Mall in Denpasar.
“The canned milk thief was finally arrested after bringing months of loss to the supermarket,” Kombes Pol Jansen said during a press conference on Tuesday (28/12). Trans Mart started losing canned milk in October 2021.
“During the management’s regular monthly audit, they realized that the number of the sales from October to December 2021 were not lining up. So, they checked their CCTV cameras,” Jansen added.
On the CCTV footage, they spotted a woman acting suspiciously around the canned milk aisle. The management then filed a report to the West Denpasar police department concerning the incident.
After a few hours of investigation, the police arrested the suspect. She admitted that she had stolen similar items from another supermarket in Denpasar.
“During the interrogation, the suspect admitted that she had been stealing from Trans Mart and Carefour, located in Denpasar. She did it with some of her friends, who were identified with initials P, K, S and Y,” Kombes Pol Jansen concluded.

Maybe if the government was serious regarding reopening international tourism to kickstart the economy the locals could get back to work and feed themselves instead of resorting to taking food.

@Mat, when are the next elections!? - Spanish flue was lasting about two years, this don’t mean that Covid can’t endure longer. It’s better to listen to WHO than to become victim of fictions. - Movie suggestion “Don’t look UP”.

@Wayan Bo, don't be ridiculous. IT IS the government's fault. All the situation, in the first place, is far ridiculous itself. But then the fact, that governments are putting those ridiculous restrictions on their people is another reason, why people are constantly losing trust in them. Look around, there are many countries who decided to live with "c19", and they are actually growing now. The thing with Bali? Is insane. And the article we are commenting now is only the prove. If you still don't see it after 2 years, then I'm really sorry for you and people around you.

@Kolohe, it’s not by government, it’s because of current world wide situation for that nobody really know how long it will persist. - If needing milk buy a cow or sheep what is much more delicious if you like to make feta cheese for example. - Old wisdom say: What mother milk didn’t give you, cow milk wouldn’t.
