Ubud is planning to welcome visitors by reopening four subdistricts and villages under certain conditions. First, Gianyar requires at least 32,000 residents to be vaccinated, and second, visitors must test upon arrival.
Gianyar Regional Secretary, Made Gede Wisnu Jaya plans to implement the mandatory Covid-19 testing in Ubud once the international travel corridor reopens.
Wisnu Jaya said that when Bali reopens the border, authorities need to implement a high standard of safety measures.
“First of all, we have to assure that every president in the four villages – Sayan, Kedewatan, Petulu, and Ubud – is free from Covid-19 by distributing the vaccine to at least 32 thousand residents in those areas,” Jaya said.
Visitors will be required to present negative test results upon entry. “We plan to deploy our police and military officers to check the visitors’ document upon their arrival in the future, in order to keep this area free from Covid-19 transmission” Wisnu Jaya added.
He said he would also divide the entrance for visitors and cargo to gain access into Ubud.
Additionally, Wisnu Jaya plans to design a quarantine policy for the visitors. “We also plan to implement a mandatory quarantine with access to all entertainment facilities for tourists before giving access into the area, maybe a 5-day quarantine. Other than Ubud, the tourist will not be allowed to visit the areas that have not been appointed as a green zone by the authority,” concluded Jaya.
