The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) from the United States made a special visit to the Bali Police Department Office on Friday (29/1), seeking cooperation for a program developed by the FBI.
During the visit, the FBI was represented by the Legal Attache FBI – US Embassy, and was welcomed by the Deputy Chief of Bali Police Department, Brigjen Pol. Roycke Harry Langie in his office.
According to Langie, the meeting was held to establish a further partnership between the two institutions.
The Legal Deputy of the US Embassy, Briton Goad, stated that the purpose of his visit is to collaborate with the Bali Police Department to run their program, Internet Crime Against Children (ICAC).
The FBI asked the Bali Police Department to allow their agents to contribute in implementing this program within the Bali Police Institution.
“We’re currently focusing on domestic violence that may involve children. I hope the FBI agents can train our officers with skill sets to solve this problem,” Harry Langie said on Saturday (30/1).
Additionally, Harry Langie said that the Bali Police Department has a special task force, the Counter Transnational Organized Crime (CTOC), and he hopes that the FBI can develop training programs within the unit.
“We certainly hope that this partnership would be beneficial to our Police Institution in the future.” he added.
The meeting was concluded by exchanging souvenirs as a tradition of appreciation and hospitality.
