The Head of Bali Health Agency, Dr. Ketut Suarjaya, has confirmed that vaccines from Sinovac are expected to arrive in Bali tonight (4/1).
Healthcare workers will be the first to be vaccinated.
Suarjaya said that 31,000 doses of vaccines will be delivered to the Health Agency of Bali Province to be distributed amongst hospitals across the island.
“The vaccines are being transported by trucks, and will arrive in Bali approximately at midnight” Suarjaya explained.
The Head of Bali Public Relation Police Officer, Kombes Pol Syamsi said that in order to secure the delivery route, police will escort the trucks carrying vaccines once they arrive at Gilimanuk Port.

The supply will be stored at the Health Agency Office until a distribution permit is granted from the Food and Drugs Administration (BPOM).
The first stage of vaccination in Bali will focus on healthcare workers.
Meanwhile, the Sanglah Public Hospital in Denpasar admitted that they are ready to start vaccinating 2,886 medical staff.
They have also prepared all procedures required to store and distribute the vaccine.

The President Director of Sanglah Hospital, Dr. I Wayan Sudana, said that the hospital has conducted the vaccine simulation before, and the program will be divided into four stages.
1. Vaccinate all healthcare staff
2. Appropriate screening to determine whether a patient qualifies for vaccination
3. Vaccinate patients
4. Observe side effects post vaccination
