The impacts of Tropical Cyclone Seedling 96S are still being felt across Bali. With wind speeds of upwards of 60km per hour raging across the island, the public is being urged to act with caution and not take any unnecessary risks while traveling through the province.

Intense winds have been accompanied by heavy rainfall across most of Bali’s top tourism resorts. Localized flooding has been recorded in Canggu, Uluwatu, Ubud, Seminyak, and Kuta. In Canggu, video footage shared by locals shows a MAJA Spa & Wellness Studio being hit with flood waters mid-class.
The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency for Bali have called for the public to be aware of the weather conditions and be considerate of their activities over the coming days. The updated weather warnings forecast shows extreme conditions are predicted from 11th-13th February.
The Head of the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency for Bali, Cahyo Nugroho, told reporters on Tuesday, 11th February, “We are people to remain diligent against water logging, flooding, landslides, and fallen trees.”
The extreme weather conditions have been wreaking havoc across the province, at least not at Bali’s I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport. On Monday 10th, February 11, flights were disrupted as fierce winds and heavy rainfall fell over the airport.
Speaking to reporters, the General Manager of I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Ahmad Syaugi Shahab, explained, “We can convey that on Monday, February 10, 2025, until 15.00 WITA, there were 11 flights affected by extreme weather with details of 8 domestic flight delays, one domestic flight was canceled, and two international flights had to do a go-around due to the extreme weather that occurred in the I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport area.”
Shahab confirmed that he and his teams will continue to work with all airlines and airport agencies to ensure the safe and smooth running of airport operations. He shared “We have coordinated with all airlines and related stakeholders to ensure that flight operations continue to run safely and ensure that affected passengers can be handled properly.”
In light of the weather forecast for the coming days, Shabab also called on the public to be cooperative with the authorities.
He concluded “We appeal to all users of Ngurah Rai Airport services to arrive earlier before their departure schedules and always coordinate with the airlines to find out updates on their flight schedules related to the extreme weather that has hit Bali.”

It is not only air travel that has been impacted by the extreme weather conditions, but Bali’s fast boat and ferry services have also seen cancellations and postponements due to extreme conditions at sea.
Tourists set to travel between Bali and the outlying islands, including Lombok and the Gili Islands, are advised to check in with their boat provider before traveling to the harbor.
The BMKG has also issued warnings for tourists planning not to visit Bali’s coastlines. Tourists are urged not to swim in the sea over the coming days, especially when winds are high and visibility is poor.
The statement explained, “Tourists who want to visit the beaches in Southern Bali, such as Nusa Dua Beach, Kuta Beach, Melasti Beach, Uluwatu Beach, etc, are recommended to stay near the shore and avoid swimming.”

The BMKG has also issued important warnings to drivers, especially as trees continue to fall across the island. They noted, “The public is advised to be cautious when engaging in outdoor activities or riding [motorcycles] to avoid incidents such as fallen trees or collapsed power poles, etc.”
By the end of Sunday evening, the Bali Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) had recorded 19 major tree-falling incidents that impacted human lives and one landslide, with more reports coming in through Monday and Tuesday.
